View Full Version : [SOLVED] Quotation background colour glitch?

Earlier today I posted to the 'Stance on philosophy' thread. I quoted LaRosa from a post of hers earlier in the thread. The quote, as it originally displayed in the message panel, had more in it than I needed, so I deleted the unnecessary verbiage.

I then completed the rest of my relatively short post.

After submitting it, I noticed there was no background colour emphasizing that it was a quote, although a quotation number was displayed.

The only other thing I had recently done was to have selected text for quotation from another post but then aborted posting.

Is this a glitch, or has it been caused by something I had done?

It's because you didn't close the quote with the closing tag ("/quote" inside brackets "[" and "]"). You deleted it along with the other text. The first part is the opening tag of the quote.

It is quite common. You can edit it back in easily.
