Hi,
I'm trying to install 8.04 desktop on a Acer 1355 LC laptop.
Boot from CD is fine, and once I select "Install Ubuntu" from the menu, it starts the process. I get to a certain point (progress bar loads), and then I just get the following:
Loading, please wait.....
Linux Ubuntu 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686
there is then some general blurb about distribution terms etc, and I'm left with the following prompt at the bottom:
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$
I've tried loading as the Live CD, but get the same. I've also downloaded the Alternate CD, but when I try and load this, my display screws up (just complete unreadable fuzz)...
Any advice gratefully received on how I can get this to install...
