I am trying to get Ubuntu up and running on my desktop at home. I tried to install it twice last night with the same result. The installation seems to complete successfully. The computer reboots. Instead of GRUB loading, I just get a symbol that looks just like the Green Lantern symbol.

Before I get into all of the "what is your hardware stuff", I wanted to see if anyone has ever seen this happen before.

I downloaded it from the Ubuntu page yesterday.

I did stop payment on the last check I wrote for my Hall of Justice dues. Maybe that was it. :)

I used the same CD and installed Ubuntu on my test bed at work, no problems. I realize that it is a problem with my computer. I was just hoping to draw on the immense amounts of experience here before I go home and start ripping apart my machine.
