How is Kubuntu? I want to try it out. Is the KDE desktop environment better than GNOME. I'm currently using Ubuntu Breezy Badger 5.10 that uses the GNOME desktop environment. Please give me suggestions. :D

Heh, You won't know it if You don't try it. Some like Gnome, some KDE, some XFCE, some Fluxbox, it's a matter of taste :D
I'm a Gnome freek :D

I've upgraded my ubuntu from hoary to breezy. XMMS works fine but the ubuntu startup and shutdown sounds are disabled. GXine isn't playing .asf files. Any ideas ?:???:

Hey, Pablo Escobar, which OS do you prefer: Windows, Linux, Mac, or Solaris?

Hey Pablo Escobar - Question: I've posted a few threads which you have viewed but it still displays Posts:0 below my screen name. But under your's it shows 317. How?

Lots of questions :D

1. Windows - been there, liked it when I didn't knew what Linux can give You, erased it and I'm very happy with it :D
Linux - see the above
Solaris - never tried it so it's tough for me to judge
2. Post count - post made in Community Chat (this is the place where this thread You posted) doesn't count to the post count. I try to help out people (the way I can) in Ubuntu and Kubuntu forums - there the post count is on :)
3. Your sound problem - try the w32codecs install, maybe something is missing.

So, Pablo Escobar, you like to hang around the ubuntu forums?

Why do You ask :)

No reason actually. I don't want to bother you un-necessarily if you don't like posting replies.:D

I like to give back what I've learned so far. I'm not some guru, just a not so green nOOb, and I like to help people and convince them that it's not so hard to use Linux full time :)

Ok. So if i get any real problems in ubuntu, i should post a thread in the ubuntu forum, right?:)

Pablo_Escobar

Correct :) And the best choice is to post 1 question in each thread (unless You have a 100 of them :D ). It helps with keeping on the right topic, not discussing different topics in 1 thread.
