help installing Ubuntu 7.10 permenantly

It's my first time to install it

I can't permanently install ubuntu
It always boot from the cd and that's it
I want it permanently
I've tried the 1st option in the boot which is Start or Install ubunto

and also OEM install
and both doesn't install it just starts it from the boot

What should I do ?!!

when the install is finished it will tell you to " remove the CD from the drive then press enter" if you leave the disk in it will just keep rebooting from the CD drive.

to avoid this in the future you can go into your BIOS boot options and change which drive your system boots from at power up. usually the F2 or Del key right after your system powers up will get you into your BIOS settings. just be cautions what you change. setting something wrong can cause much grief.
