Weird issue... KDE hangs up on logout, shutdown, and reboot. Executing these things from the shell seems to work fine, but not from the menu. I get a black screen and oddly, the mouse pointer, which I can move about at will. But no shutdown.

This happened when I attempted to upgrade my KDE3 to KDE4.1. The problem began right there. Once in KDE4 I decided it had more issues that I wanted to face at the moment so I set about uninstalling KDE4. It's normal KDE3 now and this seems to be the only issue...

Well, I dug out and deleted any and all *kde4* files left after the uninstall (there were a LOT) and that didn't do it.

I uninstalled and re-installed kdm and that didn't do it (I think).

then I uninstalled keytouch and everything went back to normal.

Go figure...
