Hey all,

So, I had a very unfortunate thing happen to me this weekend: my daru2's screen was broken at the pub I was at. The right third of my screen no longer works and part of that third has some nice rainbow colors going on. Your basic smashed LCD screen.

Now, since this laptop is still going strong otherwise (specs are ample, etc) I am having Sys76 replace the screen (I HOPE! I just emailed them yesterday, we'll see what they say on Monday).

When I get it replaced I am going to take this opportunity to REALLY take care of my screen. Which leads me to the point of this post:

I will probably get one of these screen protectors to prevent scratches/marks from the keyboard when the lid is closed: linky (http://www.shaggymac.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3_5&products_id=48). Anyone use any other products/have any suggestions for a better option for doing this?

And, have you found any really nice laptop sleeves (eg: this style (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834976001)) that fit the Daru2 well? I ask because I had trouble finding one that worked with the relatively odd battery placement/angle.

Thanks for any advice!

I looked for protective sheaths and cases and didn't have much luck. I ended up getting a laptop case offering awesome protection (http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/300/TB0390) but in order to accommodate the size in some directions, the other dimensions of the bag are quite large. Let me know if you find something good for the daru2!

I'm not sure this case is exactly along the lines you're looking for but I'll throw it out there anyway. After a lot of deliberation I ended up getting a case from WaterField Designs:

http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm

Like the Tom Bihn cases, which also look really good, they aren't cheap. But they are very well made and are available with a lot of options and in many sizes. I was able to get one that perfectly fit the Daru2. I got the 24-20, but they recommended the 25-20 if you want something that is easier to slip the laptop in and out of.

Hope that helps you, or others reading this thread.
