I have 8.10 beta 1 of Ubuntu (Gnome) installed.
I'd like to give KDE4 a try, preferably with the Kubuntu packages.
What I don't want is for KDE apps to appear in the Gnome menu, and vice-versa.
Is there a way to keep them completely seperate, but still keep shared settings for apps, like Firefox, Exaile, emesene etc?
I really don't want to have to manually delete entries from both desktop environments.

Thanks

There are no shortcuts that I am aware of! When I installed KDE4 on Ubuntu, I had to manually remove the unncessary icons from each respective menu/desktop. Thankfully, unlike once before, Gnome and KDE use different files for storing your settings. It should be noted that the KDE4 packages don't install many KDE applications such as Koffice by default, so it really isn't that much hassle to hide the extra entries.
