View Full Version : [all variants] Cheese on my eee pc

Cheese does not work on my eee pc. I have just installed ubuntu eee and done all the updates. It looks gorgeous and I like it a lot better than Xandros. BUT. I have had it less than 24h so forgive me if I am missing something obvious but I assume that cheese is the driver for the webcam. It does not, however, work, preferring instead to give a BBC test-screen looking thing with squares of bright colours but no image. Help files when searched reveal nothing under eee pc.
Don't even start me on how my 3mobile Huwaei E160G doesn't work either... but thats for another day.

turn on the eee and when the bios screen (eee logo) comes up press F2. In the bios setup navigate to Advanced >> Onboard Devices Configuration and set Onboard Camera to Enabled. Press F10 to save and exit. Load up cheese and it should be working :)

Thank you dje!
I will try that today when I get home. I admit I am rather frustrated with the whole thing today but I expect it will pass.
