I burned Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) PS3 (ISO) (http://cdimage.ubuntulinux.org/ports/releases/7.10/release/ubuntu-7.10-desktop-powerpc+ps3.iso), formatted the PS3 HD, Installed "Other OS" then restarted... Now once I did that, the boot screen popped up so I pressed enter when in doubt. Now after that, I get a screen FULL of errors. Only a few OK's but the rest are completely errors. After awhile it will just go to a black screen with nothing on it.

What am I doing wrong? I followed this guide https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PlayStation_3#Install%20kboot%20and%20Boot%20into% 20the%20Live%20CD

My PS3 is the latest update.

EDIT:
Also. I tried burning it to a DVD instead of a CD and it didnt even let me install the OS, so i used a CD instead. Is there anyway to use a DVD instead?

Hi,

I think a more detailed description is available at http://psubuntu.com/ and especially at http://psubuntu.com/wiki/HomePage/

I installed the intrepid kernel with the instructions there and i never installed linux before...:)
