View Full Version : [ubuntu] Installing 8.04 on RAID 0 with Dualboot

I recently attempted to install Ubuntu 8.04 off a live CD on my computer with Vista already installed and with software RAID 0 (Intel Matrix Storage Manager). I used dmraid to recognize my RAID correctly.

It ended up destroying my partition table and file system. I'm working on recovering it but I think I can only recover files, and not my entire OS/Boot Record/File System/Partition table.

I would still like to install a dualboot Ubuntu/Vista and I need the RAID 0. I will most likely be reinstalling Vista anyway, so what's the correct order and how do I do it correctly?

I've seen a few guides on how to install Ubuntu with RAID 0 and guides that explain how to dualboot, but I'm entirely new to Linux, so I'm not sure how to combine the instructions. Can someone give me either a good guide to do both, or a guide and tell me what to do differently or something?

It would be much appreciated :D
