problems with certain applications under Ubuntu

These 2 applications (Glipper & Xsensor) do not seem to work correctly under any Ubuntu version beyond the Gutsy version.

I know that there are probably jury rig work-a-rounds to make these work in versions beyond Gutsy but I am looking for a version of Ubuntu in which these applications will work correctly after they have been initially installed without any modifications having to be made.

Does anyone know if these applications will install and work correctly right out of the box on any other versions of Ubuntu (for instance on either Kubuntu or Eubuntu) beyond the Gutsy version ?

If you're using Kubuntu, try Klipper in place of Glipper. It's basically the same thing, but you won't need to install the Gnome libraries. Don't know about Xsensor.
