Updated my 64bit Ubuntu to Intrepid. Had trouble with Nvidia drivers. Saw someone had solved it by deleting all references to Nvidia from Synaptic Package Manager. Did that. Now cannot reboot as no video drivers #-o.

How can I install video drivers from Recovery Mode or is there some other way?

what happens when you boot into recovery mode and choose xfix?

Nothing as I stupidly must have deleted the xserver.

Ok tried everything spent hours gave up reinstalled but now Ubuntu will not boot up with sata drive attached.

I have 2 drives one is IDE and the other is IDE with a sata adapter.

I have Hardy on the sata connection and Intrepid on the IDE. I have reconfigured the grub to access Hardy but to access Intrepid I have to disconnect the sata drive.

Any ideas?
