With all these innuendos of coffee/linux, in the coloring, forum placements,

I'd assume Ubuntu would form some sort of coffee business.
I mean, hell, who Wouldn't buy Ubuntu Linux coffee?

Sound good?

Maybe I would, I don't know. I would try it and if I liked it I would stock to it, like Ubuntu now. But Ubuntu Coffee House is more likely. "I off to Ubuntu, you want something? Coffee, frapognome, an icedit?"

The Ubuntu Coffee House would be owned by Canonical, but the coffee would be open source. Anyone would be allowed to hop behind the counter and make their own coffee. If they had problems with the wifi and/or graphics drivers for the coffee machine they could ask the Ubuntu Coffee Community on http://www.ubuntucoffeeforums.org

I'd drink there.

(for those of us who click on links before engaging our brains...that link doesn't really exist...but it soooo should)

The coffee has to be free, free as in beer and the customers must be allowed to inspect the beans.

We must be free to compile from source if we want.

Right across from them. With flavors, Hardy, Gutsy, Intrepid, and so forth. But; the big difference is their openness to others as well. An Arch selection; made entirely by the community. Everything made by the community.

That's probably the coolest thing I've ever heard. Free Coffee. Free Linux. Inspection of coffee...

The community must be free to change the coffee recipe and apply patches to every portion of it. After all, the more polishing the coffe gets the better it becomes, until everyone only drinks Ubuntu Coffee.

I'd drink there. We can make our own coffee? Brilliant! If the recipe is good and it works, then it can be added as a permanent part of the menu, I think.

I drink coffee from an Ubuntu mug every day. In the Canonical shop I see they don't have the exact model that I have anymore, but they still have an Ubuntu mug:

Get it here. (http://shop.canonical.com/product_info.php?products_id=203)

I'd like to try Ubuntu Coffee. I have a couple of cans of Ubuntu Cola on my shelf, I'm lucky enough to have it stocked in (oddly enough) a coffee shop in Manchester. I don't think the cola really follows the open-source spirit though, since it doesn't tell me how to make it on the side of the can! :)

WE could do it!

An Advertisement based coffee shop, selling only fair trade coffee and baked goods. lightly staffed, but clean and friendly.

and of course free wifi.

*contemplates the financial hardship of opening another business during a major recession...*

You could have a loyalty card, and every tenth drink gets you a free Ubuntu CD.

I agree, I don't actually like coffee. Although if it was Ubuntu coffee, I would drink it regardless of taste most likely.

The idea is great, I'd love to drink some coffee there, but where would it be ? The states, Great Britain, China ? I hope it will become a real-life project, and I hope there will be a coffee shop in Latvia too.

P.S. How can you not like coffee ?
