View Full Version : [ubuntu] 8.10 startup sticking for over a minute

I have just installed 8.10 (as a new installation not as an upgrade). Whenever I start it, it sticks for well over a minute after the initial checks and in particular after the one about the battery state. Any idea why or what I can do?
This is on a separate VMWare virtual machine on a Mac with Leopard.

Very true! However, a very UNhelpful post. New folks need constructive help, not coarse replies when seeking assistance. One of Ubuntu's greatest assets is THIS forum! Unfriendly and curt responses turn noobs off...
