Black Screen After update

Have now installed Ubuntu on my computer, but after an update og restart of the computer i only get a black screen after the loding part. What's the problem?:(

AMD 3000+ Dual core, 4Gb ram, 1TB hdd

Tried Ubuntu 8,04, 8,10. and mint, kubuntu, fendora. all of them is the same ting happening.
