hey yo ppl,
i know lil about using live ubuntu via pendrive...but i want to know if we could install ubuntu(7.10)in a pendrive and boot from it and do our tasks using it as an OS,actually........

i am not talking about using it live...coz i think it would be slower for 256 MB Ram Pcs...
or to say

"how to boot from a pendrive having ubuntu,faster for 246 MB Rams!!

8.10 has a new tool called usb-creator.
It works on 8.04 just fine.
You can download it here:

Makes setting up a Flash drive a breeze.
There is the choice to make the drive persistent or not.
It will install to USB directly from an iso on the desktop.
No CD's required.
Installed Xubuntu 8.10 onto a 2G flash and still have 1.2G free.

If you want a working Flash drive install ubuntu to it just like it is a normal hard drive.
Most newer computers see Flash as just another HDD.
This will give you an o/s that can be highly customized.
You can clone the completed thumbdrive if you wish.
