Hello!
I have two video cards, internal Intel 945, and PCI-E ATI Radeon X1650.
When I boot from cd to install/livecd, i've got grey screen, then 4-color gradient lines, and then xorg restarts again with same sympthoms. Internal adapter disabled in BIOS, monitor connected to ATI card.
I can install Ubuntu by removing ATI card, and installing with internal card, then inserting ATI again and configuring Xorg by hand.
But may be you suggest more easy solution?
