Per-device mouse settings

How do I change the pointer acceleration for my mouse without affecting my touchpad and vice versa? My new mouse is crazy sensitive and if I rein it in then my touchpad is sloooow.

I use a left handed mouse most of the time, but when it's not plugged in I used the touch pad (I'm naturally right handed). Each time I switch I have to modify my mouse preferences (even though it never normally changes for a given device).

Preferences per device would be good.

Does anyone know how to do this?
