I'm not sure if this has been posted, and sorry if it has, but I was just wondering what kind of cell phones everyone has? I'll start I guess, I have a Sony Ericsson.

I have a Palm Treo 755p. I have only had it for a few months, but I really like it, and it syncs with Evolution without any special work.

Mine's an old Nokia (I use Virgin Mobile). It used to be my sisters which is probably 4-5 years old now. I'm happy with it though, because it tells me the time, fits nicely in my pocket, sends text messages and makes calls. No need to upgrade :).

Thats all I look for in my phone :) I also enjoy playing tetris online from time to time.

I have a Samsung from Verizon. Not really sure of the model number. Had it for a good number of years now.

I have one by Pantech, the lady of the house has a Sanyo. Both are CDMA models.

Previous phones include a couple of Motorolas on a now turned-off network run by my current mobile provider (NOT the over-priced-big-as-a-brick kind of 20 years ago), a Nokia, an Ericsson (I think, before they were with Sony...), another Nokia, a Sony Ericsson, and now the two current phones.

Samsung 870. Takes bad pictures, I don't know how to T9 text, and has gross ringtones. But, if you want to answer a phone call, it's aces! ;)

(I DO have a PDA with WiFi, though!)

LG enV. It's the first phone I've owned that honestly does everything I could possibly want it to do, so I don't plan on getting another one any time soon.

I mean, why should I upgrade? So that I have the privilege of having more than I need and paying for new accessories because all the phones have different plugs?

Samsung Blackjack II Wine Red

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51iG2txOuUL.jpg

I love it.

My only problem with it is that it still has Windows Mobile 6.0 on it, when Windows Mobile 6.1 is already out for the Blackjack and is already bundled with new Blackjacks.

AT&T has yet to send me or notify me about the update.

first phone was a prepaid Sony Ericsson. not sure of the model name, but it's a blue clamshell with a BST-37 battery (rofl). my current phone is a at&t samsung a737, which i like since it does what i ask it to do (mainly call, rarely text). oh, and i love the orange color =).

I have an HTC touch pro on Sprint. I bought it about four months before the new pre came out, I guess that's how that always works out though. I'm not too big a fan of windows mobile, so I think once my two years is up I'll see what Palm is doing with their WebOS or maybe look into Android.

I just got a Motorola Tundra for use on the AT&T network. It's ugly as sin and is about as large a flip-phone as you'll find, but it gets reception where nothing else will.

Update to my comments at http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=5885372&postcount=11:

Mrs Lisati's Sanyo phone packed a sad after being lost and then recovered, so I replaced my Pantech (http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=121045&stc=1&d=1247556193) phone (the flip phone) with a Telecom R6 (http://www.zte.co.nz/main/R6.htm), which appears to be a localised verion of a similar phone (http://www.zte.com.au/main/T6.htm) offered by Telstra Australia, and, with the help of our mobile carrier, reprogrammed my old phone with Mrs Lisati's number.

p.s. the pictures are not to scale - when the flip phone is open, they're about the same size.

pp.s. The R6 works nicely as a modem for Ubuntu, but since Jaunty only lists Vodafone as a provider and not Telecom NZ, getting it to work took a little bit of tinkering with the settings, documented here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7574869)

Samsung i900v (http://www.samsung.com/za/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=mobilephone&type=mobilephone&subtype=infotainment&model_cd=SGH-I900XKVXFV)

Only thing it doesn't do is make coffee. Not hugely impressed with Windows Mobile, will look for an alternative OS on my next phone. Can use it as a "flash drive" in Ubuntu at least.

I currently have a simple old Samsung SGH-E730, but I'm waiting for my iPhone 3GS - it will take a few weeks before it's in stock.

I have a dumbphone - Nokia 62something. It has some kind of widgets for its "desktop", which are very handy (pun intended (for germans)). It got a toolbar, a calendar, a countdown clock and notes, among others.
