Is there a software for Ubuntu that works like flashget for Windows? Including http downloads as well as server authentication. Example of this is rapidshare.com, I would copy all the links I want to download on flashget and enter my rapidshare username/password for premium downloads.

You guys know a similar software for Ubuntu?

Wget (http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/manual/html_node/index.html) springs to mind. It should be installed already.

I can only see a .rar file, can't open it :( (jdownloader)

They are evil archive files. You can use unrar to extract it, but it's non-free.

Flashget worked fine under wine for me in Ubuntu 8.04 but not in 8.10. Don't know why.

binbash

how needlessley complicated.

it is worth considering reliance on software you already have installed.

go to the youtube vid of your choosing.

let it load all the way. pause it or don't, makes no difference.

navigate to ~/.mozilla/firefox/____.default/Cache in the file browser of your choice.

sort by either date modified, size, or type. whichever.

click around and find the relevant "Shockwave Flash file".

double click to open, verify that it is what you want.

copy it.

paste it elsewhere.

done.

:D

Clear the /tmp/ folder
Go to a youtube video of your choosing
Wait for it to load fully
Navigate to /tmp/
Copy and paste the video in the /tmp/ folder.

Clear the /tmp/ folder

Not a good idea.

Not a good idea.

Have you any reason for thinking that?

Anyway, you don't need to clear the whole folder - it just makes it easier to find the video if you have never used Bleachbit and have 523423GB of stuff in there.
