Hello, I'm having a problem installing a Ubuntu 8.04 server, which came with a book I purchased.
what happens is, after I finish the partitioning, install, etc, it reboots, starts booting from the my hdd then I get this message:
check root= boot arg cat /proc/cmdline
or missing modules, devices: cat /proc/modules ls/dev
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/14eed81a-9756-4ca3-8e61-de604c985f9b does not exist! dropping to a shell
then it loads busybox and I get an initmrfs prompt.
I tried redoing the install, and using the recover mode, but as I'm not reall familiar with the tools within
