Hi all,

I have researched this for quite a while but can't quite find a solution.
The issue is as follows:

I have a laptop (T61) running ubuntu 8.04.
Normally the laptop is connected to a dock with another monitor which is connected to the VGA output. In this mode I use a dual head setup using virtual screen.

My problem is this: Gnome ALWAY place the task and application bars on the VGA output. This is normally fine but not when I want to connect the laptop to a video projector. In presentation mode I would like the bars to appear on the LCD snree and leave the VGA output clean for presentation.

However, I could not find a way to make gnome switch the bars from display to display.

As an emphasis: I kow how to add more panels but that is not the funtionality I am after. What I need is a way to let gnome know which display is primary and which is secondary so it will place the bars correctly.

Many thanks for your help!
