Running xp pro on laptop
xp pro and ubuntu (latest) on desktop, dual boot, each with own drive
Finally managed to get to the point where laptop can print when desktop is running ubuntu (not entirely sure how I did this). Went through a tutorial on sharing, and now from the laptop, I can see the folders listed that I want to share on the ubuntu machine. When I click I am prompted for a username and password, but when I enter them (as entered in ubuntu, Samba) I get that I am either not authorized or multiple users cannot access shared resources.

I note that many folks are having similar problems, and have equal difficulty in locating a solution.

Thanks - obviously new.
