Figured we should start threads for each area - so Philly folks, what are we doing?

The release party last halloween-time release was at The Drake Tavern (http://www.draketavern.com/) in Jenkintown. We could do this again if all else fails.

Hi Elizabeth & To All looking to attend,

As a newb to ubuntu, I'm currently looking to attend user meets and alike. I've seen the stickys for the PA LOCO team, but thought before I join & promote ubuntu (linux) I should learn more about it. I'm enjoying ubuntu very much and have not booted to windows in about 2 weeks! Doing my best to make linux my "one & only" and would love to scrub m$ altogether.

Is this release party open to all who wish to attend?

I live in Lancaster County, so the Philly area is not too far and would like to attend. Being 1/2 Irish myself... the Drake Tavern looks like a great choice. lol

Would like to meet fellow linux users in the area and find out more about groups, meets, and all linux related gatherings. Attending a new launch party would be a great first meet, so I look forward to hearing from you and others.

Cool, it's still being discussed (both date and location). We were leaning toward a Halloween theme, but that means either having the party before the release (Sunday the 26th) or after Halloween (Sunday the 2nd). And there was a second suggestion of Fingers, Wings & Other Things (http://fwot.com/) in Conshohocken. Either way we'll probably have to contact the establishment to tell them of our plans, Drake got pretty busy last time 'round.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks for getting back, looking forward to it. As far as place, time and date, I have no preferences, whatever works for the group. Know the area, but not so much the places themselves, so whatever is decided will be fine with me. As you said though, it probably would be a good idea to decide on something soon as it is a popular holiday when it comes to parties.

A party has been planned for this release and birthday celebration for the Philadelphia Area, and we are inviting all to attend.

When: SATURDAY, November 1st at 3pm to approximately 7pm; at least.

Where: The Drake Tavern in Jenkintown, PA. (Food establishment, so under 21 ARE allowed and WELCOME)
