I installed Ubuntu two days ago (still kept XP though).
I'm a bit nervous, but I'm getting along...

welcome you will find people and wilki very helpful, swapping from xp to linux has taken a while for me to get used to,but I have to say I dumped xp and I am enjoying the many free apps in synaptic and the help I've had.
