Using live cd damaging XP installation

Just using the live cd version make problems to my Windows XP installation. After running the live CD Ubuntu Windows started to make problems with the graphics drivers.

there's no way this can happen. when running the computer from the live cd, you are doing just that running the computer from a cd. the hard drive is NOT involved. so therefore the live cd can't damage an operating system on the hard drive.
