I installed 8.04.1 64-bit server on my dual Opteron which has XP Pro on one hard disk. I previously had OpenSUSE 11 on two partitions / and /home, and I reused those partitions (reformatting them).

But after the install, and a reboot, none of the gr ub menu items worked. The Linux ones gave Error 22 - No such partition
The Windows one gave Error 25 - Disk error.

What do I do to recover?

It won't give me a session on the CD that I downloaded and used. The LiveCD page just links me to the release page. So how do I get a Live CD?

You can get a LiveCD from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download

That is where I got my original ISO. Maybe I am blind, but I see no Live CD choice. Is the 64-bit server CD supposed to be a Live CD? If so, it only gives me choices for installing, verifying the CD, or booting from the first disk.

It wouldn't have a Live CD. The Live cd includes a desktop gui, which the server version does not have.

The system hung using the Live CD while trying to get Firefox to find this forum. Not a good sign....
