View Full Version : [other] tiling wms - what's the difference between them?

I'm interested in playing around with a few tiling window managers, but so far I've found two things:
1. There are a lot of them.
2. They all have different keyboard commands.

While I *could* download and try them all, they all seem pretty much the same, as far as basic usage, so I have the fear that I'll get used to one, then find that another suits me better, and have to relearn everything.

Essentially, I just want to know what differences exist in tiling wms. I assume that there *are* differences, since there are so many of them, but it's not obvious to me from looking at any of their pages why I should choose one or the other. Details on specific wms are not necessary (although helpful); I'd just like to know what kind of things to look for, since the things I'm used to evaluating a wm by are all pretty much floating-wm-specific.

bump. I'm rather curious to know, although perhaps I should take this question elsewhere?
