Hi All :)

I've been using ubuntu on my laptop for but a month, and love it so much I decided today to install it on my main pc, want to do a dual boot alongside windows. (so I can sill use iTunes, etc)

When I go to install it or run it off the cd it loads up but then the screen goes mental, vertical lines of green white purple etc. So I can't go any further with it..

Obviously a problem with the graphics card, but there must be some way around it

Any ideas / suggstions?

spec:
AMD dual core processor
Asus A8N-SLI motherboard (no onboard graphics)
nVidia GeForce 6 (dvi outputs)

Thanking you
Tim

Have you checked 'Check Live CD for errors'? It is below boot the live cd and install options.

I haven't, but seeing as the same disc installed to my laptop it should be ok?

I'll check it now anyways..

Another thing you could try is pressing F4 at the main menu and selecting safe graphics mode.
