Hello all, i am looking to breathe new life into my aging laptop.
Its running windows ME:-& and i want to put xubuntu onto it.
My main problem is my PCMCIA slot is busted, so i can not use my external cd drive. and i have read that it WILL NOT BOOT from usb drives.
Is there a relatively simple way of installing some form of linux on the hd then forcing a boot/install from there? I am not too hardware savvy(cant take hds out and install from other pcs, etc) but i am not a complete novice. i am a quick learner and can figure things out if need be. But from all that i have read in searches previously i have seen that the VIAO's are tricky animals.
Thanks much in advance.
