Need to remove HDD with Unbutu

I have 2 Hard Drives
One has Vista and the other Ubuntu
I would like to restore the MBR on vista so that I can remove the Ubunta hard drive. I beleieve Grub is installed on the ubuntu hard drive

If I change the boot order on Grub to boot vista first will that work?
Then I can pull the second hard drive, if i have the boot order in my Bios set for HDD1 then HDD2. Or better yet move the HDD to the other slot in the laptop
