Google has gone crazy today.

I woke up, did a search and the search got redirected to google.co.jp but im in Argentina.

I don't know if it's Firefox (because the search engine bar has algo changed to Google Japan) or Google.

How can I reset this to my locale settings?

Btw, didn't know where to post this but here seems appropiate.

Hi,
I had an issue similar to this the other week where I was getting redirected to Google's Denmark page, clearing all the private data apart from my passwords in FF (by going to Tools -> Clear Private Data) sorted the problem.
Hope that sorts it for you :KS

Tried that, still in Japan.

I have completly erased Firefox and reinstalled it and still getting Japanese.

It's pretty weird

It's probably a problem with google thinking that your IP address is in Japan? Try another browser.

@ lian1238: Will try with Opera

@ finer recliner: No, I was using OpenDNS but I disabled and I'm still in Japan

Remove your .mozilla folder in /home/username .

Oh and make sure you aren't using a proxy.

Tried with Opera, no change. Tried deleting (again) my .mozilla folder, went to blogger.com and it's still in Japanese.

Edit: There's a problem with my ISP, I reset my connection and now i'm in Deutschland

Haha, that's funny. You should call them up and tell them. In the meantime, you might want to try going through a proxy server like www.youhide.com or something.

Try google.com/ncr (http://google.com/ncr). ncr stands fo "no custom redirect". After you do this once google.com will always show you the standard english page. I think you can go to google Argentina at google.com.ar (http://google.com.ar).

Might want to do a tracert on your connection to google and see where/who your connection is going through .
