i downloaded OOo_2.0.3_he_install_linux_deb_20061001.tar.gz ,
but i failed to install it ,
any help will be usefull .

OpenOffice is pre-installed in Ubuntu, just go to Applications-->Office. :)

If you deleted it somehow or are building up from a minimal install, you can just add it using Synaptic or Add/Remove Programs.

No need to mess around with the tar.gz when you can just add the correct version from the repositories. :)
