Was at the foot of the North face of the Eiger a couple of weeks ago watching people chuck themselves off the top and then fly off down the valley with the flying suits on (no jet pack). Looked awesome, and a little like flying squirrels. Must have been great to watch him do this channel jump with jets on his back.

Did someone else sponsored by Red Bull not do something similar a few years back?

I believe those flying suits were actually designed to mimic the aerodynamics of a flying squirrel...

Swiss pilot Yves Rossy will be the first person in history to fly across the English Channel using a special wing.

The above statement is false!

The first person to do this would be Felix Baumgartner. He did it in 2003.

The only difference is his wing was not powered.
