It's like a web-based Add/Remove, but more. For example, check out the neverball page to see what I mean (http://appnr.com/package/neverball).

Oh, and the codecs page (http://appnr.com/category/codec) is certainly nice :)

There's also Playdeb (http://www.playdeb.net/), which uses a repository that has updates / games not yet in ubuntu stuff, and has a web-page also. But it's for games only :)
