Installing Desktop effects on Ubuntu 8.4

Hey, I'm on an HP pavillion dv5220 (video card: ATI Radeon X200M if that makes a difference) and I just can't install desktop effects on this thing, specifically I'm looking to get the cube effect.

complete noob here, really could use some help :)

You need ccsm,compiz fusion icon installed to start with. In the search box in this forum type "desktop effects"or "compiz fusion" and you could find many useful posts and you will find it very easy to install the Cube effect.
If you run in to difficulties explain here with details and I am sure many of us will help.
