Why no Bittorent supports schedule download?

Basically, after migrating from Windows to ubuntu i miss Utorrent. I've tried it with Wine, it installs fine but the files won't open in firefox ("open in utorrent" is ticked). So no go..i have to manually save it and open it on desktop, too much of a hassle.

Anyhow, transmission fails because it has no features. Tried deluge, nope can't schedule download. Basically i want it to download between certain times (and only during these times). Any idea on how to manage that?

Deluge has a plugin that does the scheduling, check it out.

rtorrent can also do this; nothing beats rtorrent:-)

ktorrent also does scheduling i think. i prefer deluge. im not too sure if the new deluge has schedule support yet, because not all the plugins have been updated for the new release, but it probably does.

I think all versions of Deluge have the scheduler plugin. The one in the repos (not quite the newest one) definitely does.

deludge 1.0 only has 2 plugins...
i've tried the azerus plugin and it does not work.

Try deluge 0.6 then, the one in ubuntu repositories. that has all of them.

I downloaded 0.5.9.3..ticked the Scheduler, set the red bar to not downland during certain time...i now start a torrent and it's downloading..why isn't it working?

Try quitting deluge and re-launching. I think the scheduler only kicks in on a restart. You should see all your torrents switch to 'queued' when not scheduled for download.

yes it has a great gui system too.
