I'm trying to install Hardy on my Dell Vostro laptop. The problem is that the screen has a large black area on the right side, the screen has "double-vision," and the whole thing flickers really badly.
It does this whether I'm running from LiveCD or with Ubuntu installed. Also does with Kubuntu (CD and install).
Incidentally, this didn't happen until my motherboard burned out and was replaced under warranty on-site (supposedly with the same one). It was fine before then. I removed Ubuntu, removed the partition, and tried again with no luck.
Video card: ATI radeon express 1500
Motherboard: I don't know and can't figure out where to get this info other than taking the laptop apart and looking.
