I have M2n-MX with AMD64
I tried to install ubuntu from "The
official Desktop Edition" disc. It would start with language and then the orange bar but would never complete the intallation and would hang up. I am installing on a clean hard drive.
I downloaded the 64 bit image from the ubuntu website and burned a disc. Similar problem will not install. I pulled off all extra hardware and am down to one HD and mother board video driver.
Still will not get beyond the partial install and freeze. Am i not waiting long enough? After the DVD drive stops working nothing happens.

try burning the cd/dvd at a lower speed such as 4x or less...burning in higher #'s is known to 'cause problems..

See "Installation Problems" in my sig for a list of things to try. I suggest you give the alternate cd a try.
