I have mistakenly used dpkg-reconfigure console-data to set a wong keyboard map, and can't login now. Is there anyway that I can fix this problem other than reinstall the whole thing?

Thanks!

I'm not all that knowledgeable, but how about re-install? Also theoretically (and I'm really guessing now), keyboard configuration will be in some config file - so you could boot to windows (if you have one on the machine), install some free-ware/opensource program able to read linux partitions and change the config file...

it seems too late to answer this thread, but may be some one some day come here like me, any way,

I always suggest to use and boot up with a Live-CD or systemrescuecd disk. you can always download and burn one of them and fix your system using them. you will never need to install windows to access your linux partitions or trying to fix them vis windows.
