Hi,

I have a laptop: Dell Latidude C800, 256Mb Ram, 20Gb HD.
I removed all Partitions.
Boot with the Ubuntu Live CD 8.04.1-desktop-i386 (checked Md5Sum)

1) The screen is not correct, split in 2 parts and trilling. But I can click on the forward buttons.

2) Step 3 of 7 takes 2 hours. After 6 hours I stopped step 4 of 7. For 6 hours I could hear the computer accessing the cd but nothing happened.

Does someone know whats wrong.

Thanks,

Jan

Hi Jan, your computer doesn't have enough ram (384mb required). You can try the Ubuntu Alternate CD (256mb required) or a lighter-weight distro such as Xubuntu.

Good luck!
