How are all of you? I want to use Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) on my computer: Dell 9100 laptop with an Intel Pentium 4 processor.

I have to choose the correct computer architecture from this download-page:

Would any of you please tell me which CD-Image/ISO I should download if I plan to use Debian Etch or Lenny? or Tell me what's my computer architecture: Intel "i386" (x86) or "ia64"?

Thanks in advance for your help & patience.

i386 will work.

You can also use ia64 if you have a Pentium "D" processor (that is a processor with 64-bit extentions).

I'll try to find out if my computer is able to use the AMD64. Type or paste
uname -m in the Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)

If it is a 64-bit system, then you will see x86_64.
