Hello everyone, newbie here. I recently installed Ubuntu v 8 on my Acer Extensa laptop & love it. The only problem is that I cannot seem to connect to my wireless router w/ WPA security enabled. The system finds my network & prompts for the password, but once I enter it, there is a long delay & it never connects. I tried switching the router to WEP & Ubuntu connects perfectly to that, but I'd really like to keep WPA going. Any ideas?

Thanks.

(1) you have to be patient - it can take hours before someone may answer you

(2) your second reply will get you no where but reported to the forum administrators (which I have done).

Now, what make/model of router? What type of WPA? I had to use WPA2 AES with my Netgear router and everything went fine. You must match the type of WPA and must enter the exact passphrase.
