Hey I hear that .NET and Java are two similar technologies based on VMs. Mono seems to be gaining ground in Linux and there are over 100 Ubuntu packages which requires Mono. Is Mono better suited for desktop apps? People often complain Java is more resource-hungry and slower and than native apps. Is the same true for Mono?
