Hello All

I am a complete novice at Ubuntu at the moment and I need some help.

With some help from another forum I installed the linux version of the media application "realplayer" and it worked OK to start with but now when I try to start it it gives me an error message of "failed to execute child process "realplay" (No such file or directory)"

I have made no other changes, so what has happened and how do I fix it?

Thanks

John:confused:

Why exactly do you need real player?

I suggest the new vlc player:

If you really want real player, remove the old one and follow instructions here:

Thanks, how do I remove the old one?

As I said, I'm pretty green at this!

To remove it go to Applications>Add/Remove. Then you can select for the Add/Remove window to only show installed applications and from there remove the old installation.
