I'm installing Ubuntu on a laptop that has a broken cd/dvd drive and can't boot usb drives. I had Windows XP on the laptop, so i used UNetbootin to install Ubuntu using my hard drive. It went smoothly until I tried to install Ubuntu with the installer that comes provided. I've used both the guided partition and the manual partitioner, and I always get the error:
The ext3 file system creation in partition #1 of SCSI1 (0,0,0) (sda) failed.
I'm afraid to restart the laptop because i've already deleted the windows partition with the partitioner. How can i fix this?
