View Full Version : [ubuntu] i have ubuntu server edition burned on cd now what

i put the cd in the computer to the right of me and nothing happened
so i cant get it installed on the computer since nothing happed not sure what to do

its rebooting it dosnt look like its going to do anything
but i shut down then powered up again should restart instead

Have you got your bios set up to boot from cd?

click f2 or f12 (it will tell you) as soon as it shows upon reboot. arrow over to boot options and select boot from disc.

How old is the computer? On a lot of recent machines you can pres f12 at startup and select the boot device. If you don't have that option than it has to be set in BIOS as mentioned.

Just curious, what do you plan to do with server edition? You don't seem too sure of what you're doing and with ubuntu server you need to be a bit more experienced.
