View Full Version : [kde] KDE 4: Show application name before description?

Hey all,

One thing that has been driving me barmy since upgrading to KDE 4, is the kickoff menu displaying the descriptions of application name before the actual name. To make matters worse, the name isn't shown unless an entry is hovered over.

If I want to start Kopete, I wan't to find "Kopete" in the menu, not "Instant Messenger"..."Amarok", not "Audio Player"

In KDE 3.5 there was a setting to set whether the application name was to be displayed before the description, or not to show the description at all! I can't find this setting anywhere in KDE 4.1. I've had a hunt around ~/.kde/share/config/ but have found nothing obvious besides kickoffrc, which has nothing much in it at the moment.

Any ideas? Surely there are others here that want to see an applications name rather than a description! :D

Thanks
