I have been looking for over seven months for a Gnome desktop that I realy feel comforatable with and have found a few but generaly am trying to stay away from a win look. I found some interesting ones on Gnome-look.org

Currently im using

:ish : rounded top corners and small size buttons

:Tish : switched to this one this week as this one also has rounded bottoms and nicer buttons.

:there is also tish mink and tish brushed if that is what you are into.
I use tish as the border and ish as fir the bottons which gives a real nice look.

I also use gorilla icons as they are just interesting an different but think you can only get them in the hole theme now.

Please post your Gnome-look.

I usually use gperfection2 or graphite clearlooks themes, along with the corresponding icon set. Metacity themes, I like river and office. (Yes, I want my computer to be functional and not gaudy, yet still look good.)

With the new clearlooks animation, any clearlooks theme looks awesome.

I also recently found dropline neu, and I've been using its brown color scheme...I think this should be the default ubuntu brown, since it looks good.

GTK Engine - Industrial. It a Gnome killer feature for me, I have never see such pure whiteness in KDE.

Window Border- Brace2

Its a step up from Metabox, my old favorite.

gtk: I have a heavily modified industrial that I have tweaked to within an inch of it's original existence that I absolutely adore - for my gtk theme engine; the theme sitting on top of it has also been modified quite extensively by me.... so it looks exactly the way I want it to.

window border: XFwm4.... again, heavily modified

icons: custom creation including custom icons, tango icons, gartoon, gorilla, new gorilla, and novell/ximian ones.

font: custom hinted otep

firefox: custom matching jar file components, culled from my other theming.
